IMPORTANT:
If you have any other anti-virus software on your computer, you must uninstall it first. Also, your computer must be running at least Windows 7 or higher.

  1. Close all open applications before install.
  2. Determine if your computer has 32- or 64-bit Windows installed.

    • Windows 7: Select the Start menu. Right-click the "Computer" option, and then select Properties. This will take you to a page displaying the system specifications.
    • Windows 8.1: Click the Folder icon on the Taskbar. Right-click This PC in the left pane. Select Properties. This will take you to a page displaying the system specifications.
    • Windows 10: Select the Start button, right-click File Explorer and choose Properties. This will take you to a page displaying the system specifications.
  3. Go to http://www.marquette.edu/antivirus/ and select either 32-bit or 64-bit version. Login to Marquette's Microsoft site WITH YOUR MARQUETTE.EDU EMAIL ADDRESS AND PASSWORD to download Symantec Endpoint Protection.
  4. After download is complete, open the Installer and select Install.

    The Ready to Install the Program window opens. Click Install to begin the installation.
  5. Select Next.

    The installtion Wizard will install Symantec. Select Next to continue.
  6. Select I accept the terms in the license agreement, and then select Next.

    Please read the following license agreement carefully.Then accept and click Next.
  7. Uncheck the box to prevent anonymous data from being sent to Symantec, then select Next.

    Uncheck "I want to join the fight against cybercrime and let this computer ..."
  8. Select Install.

    Select  Install to begin installation.
  9. Once the install is finished, select Finish.

    The Wizard has successfully installed Symantec. Select Finish to exit.
  10. Please wait until installation is complete.

    LiveUpdate Status window lists the files to be downloaded and shows % complete.
  11. Select Restart Now to complete the installation.

    The installation requires the computer to restart. Select Restart Now.
