John P. Underwood, Bus Ad ’91, was elected to the Marquette University Board of Trustees in 2016.
He is managing director at Goldman Sachs. He has more than 20 years of investment experience and advises a select number of senior executives, family offices, foundations and endowments. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, John was a high yield fixed income analyst covering multiple sectors.
He is a national trustee for the Boys and Girls Club of America (Pacific Region) and a trustee of the United States Ski and Snowboard Foundation. He also serves on the board of visitors of the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University and the advisory board of the Make-A-Wish Foundation (Greater Bay Area). Formerly, he was a founding member of the Global Institute of Sustainability Board of Trustees, the United States Lacrosse Foundation, Larkin Street Youth Services and the Squaw Valley Corporation. John is a member of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group, the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of San Francisco.
John received his bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from Marquette University and his MBA from Vanderbilt University.
