Spotlight Exhibit: Performing Arts in Special Collections Special Collections Exhibit

August 2011 - May 2012

Mounted in six 3rd floor hallway display cases, these colorful panels highlight Marquette's special collections in the area of performing arts: music at Marquette; the Sondheim Research Collection; the Incomparable Hildegarde; the Van Vechten postcard collection; the Conservatory of Music; and MU Players. The Saint John's Bible Heritage Edition is now on permanent exhibit in the Prucha Reading Room with a different illuminated page displayed each day. Reference materials relating to the creation of this multi-volume fine art reproduction Bible are also available in the Reading Room. Students who wish to study verses and illuminations in another volume may place a request with staff. More about the Bible will be found in the Libraries' research guide. Long-term exhibit

This photographic exhibit chronicles the construction and use of Memorial Library from the 1950s through the 1990s.

This long-term display was prepared by members of the library administration using photographs from Archives' collections. Contact Dean Janice Welburn for more information.

Student postings: organizations wishing to publicize their activities may place flyers and announcements on the bulletin boards in the Raynor entrance to the Bridge (2nd level). The contents of these bulletin boards are cleared of past events weekly. In accordance with university posting policies, postings must be approved by Student Development, AMU Room 121. Student groups may also request permission to place a poster on easel (one week max.) in the Bridge through the associate dean of libraries, Jean Zanoni in the dean's office (Raynor 3rd floor) or (414) 288-7214. Easels are also available in the dean's office. A table may also be reserved for up to two days on the Bridge through Raynor's conference center; more information here.
