History: Founded in Germany, 1852, the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor self-identify with the post-nominal initials, “S.F.P.” They made their first U.S. foundation in Cincinnati, 1877, and established and have administered Talbot House Catholic Charities (Navajo), Chinle, Navajo Reservation, Arizona, 1981-present.
