History: The Diocese of Columbus was erected, 1868, from territory of the Diocese of Cincinnati, and it lost territory, 1944, to erect an adjacent diocese. Sacred Heart Church, New Philadelphia, in the Columbus Diocese has had with a few Native American (e.g. Maya) parishioners, 1970s-present.
