History: Founded in Wisconsin, 1858, the Sisters of St. Agnes self-identify with the post-nominal initials, “S.S.A.” They staffed the following schools, which served Ojibwa Indian students in Michigan:

1906-1954

Holy Name of Jesus Day School, Assinins, L’Anse Reservation

1906-1956

St. Joseph Orphanage School, Assinins, L’Anse Reservation
