Biographical Note:  James D. O'Neill entered Marquette College in 1883. He received his bachelor of arts in 1887 and his master of arts in 1889. He died on August 16, 1945.

Scope and Content:  The collection mainly consists of sermons written or collected by Marquette University alumnus Rev. James D. O'Neill dating from 1871 through 1931. It also includes a two-volume manuscript titled A Church History and another volume titled Essays, Speeches, and Sermons.
