February 2011—Raynor Memorial Libraries are conducting a brief Web-based survey to assess library service quality at Marquette. The survey, known as LibQUAL+™, assesses satisfaction with services, collections, access, and space. The survey is being distributed to all faculty and a random sample of undergraduate and graduate students via an e-mail message that contains a link to the survey.
The rigorously-tested survey instrument is administered under the auspices of the Association of Research Libraries with a goal of fostering a culture of excellence in service. The Libraries participated in LibQUAL+™ in 2002 and 2006, and have used the results for strategic planning and in the development of services. Participation in this year’s survey will allow the Libraries to:
• Better serve your needs
• Better understand your perceptions of library service quality
• Benchmark library user feedback systematically over time
• Make a comparable assessment with peer institutions, including other Jesuit colleges and universities
The survey runs from February 7 through February 25. Responses are confidential and no personal information is captured; the survey typically takes about 15 minutes to complete. Students who complete the survey will be included in a drawing for $30 gift cards for the Spirit Shop.
