Student Resources for Digital Media Producution

Digital media studio consultationSince its launch in 2011, the Libraries’ Digital Media Studio has continued to provide students with equipment, software and instruction for digital media projects such as web portfolios, videos, and podcasts. Technology such as video cameras, iPads, iMac computers, sound recorders, microphones, and digital cameras are all available for student use at no cost.

Not sure how to use it all?  Not a problem. One-on-one or classroom instruction is available through the Digital Media Studio. Students can schedule an appointment with our staff by completing a media consultation form or by contacting the Information Desk in Raynor Library, 414-288-7556. Faculty is encouraged to arrange workshops for their students as well. Trained DMS staff can assist students with organizing their projects, identifying the appropriate technology and software to meet their project needs and using these tools.

If equipment is all that is needed, students may check availability in the online catalog, MARQCAT or through the Digital Media Studio’s online guide. Checkout of equipment is at the Information Desk located in the heart of the first floor of Raynor Library.

The Libraries strive to support the needs of all Marquette students. Contact Elizabeth Gibes, research and instructional services librarian, to discuss your specific instructional or technology needs. Elizabeth has had great success working with faculty and students in the classroom and D2L. She encourages students and faculty to get the Digital Media Studio involved early to help mitigate technology anxiety. This allows more time to focus on the learning objectives of a project and less on the technological hurdles and frustrations.
