elected president of the Washington Professional Chapter of
Alpha Chi Sigma, the national chemistry fraternity unit. The

Dr. Robert S. Pavlic, Med ’54, was m honored with the
Distinguished Service Award of the Medical College of Wisconsin/Marquette
Medical Alumni Association at the annual banquet in Milwaukee.
The award recognizes outstanding service to his community,
profession and alma mater.
Sister M. Edmunette Paczesny, Arts ’55, stepped
down after 31 years as president of Hilbert College in Hamburg,
N.Y. She was one of the longest-serving college presidents
in the country.
Patricia (Hoffer) Simon, Nurs ’55, was selected by the
Watertown, Wis., branch of the American Association of University
Women for this year’s Woman of Merit award. She is involved
in many works of public service as well as social and religious
service.

James L. Farrell, Eng ’57, wrote Nuts & Bolts
of Christianity, a collection of inspirations for every week
of the year, published by American Literary Press.
David
J. Pilling, Arts ’57, is employed by Integrated
Device Technology in Santa Clara, Calif., as a design
engineer. He holds 31 patents. He is married and has six
children, 16 grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Thomas
P. Feit, Eng ’57, received the award of Honorary
Member by ASTM International Committee E05 on Fire
Standards, the 19th individual so honored by this 100-year-old
fire safety committee. His wife, Nancy Morris Feit, Arts ’58,
is a volunteer teacher at Immaculate Heart of Mary
School in Santa Ana, Calif. They reside in Corona del
Mar, Calif.
Anthony J. Mayer, Bus Ad ’58, was named in Who’s
Who in Finance and Business, 2006-07 edition.
Donald M. Hall, Bus Ad ’59, published a memoir,
A Man Learns. It was critically acclaimed by author Jon
Hassler as “a
profound reading experience for anyone raised Catholic
in the Midwest.”
