As part of a series of appearances across the country, Admiral Michael G. Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, spoke on campus Tuesday, April 5.

Mullen was sworn in as the 17th chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff on Oct. 1, 2007. He is the highest-ranking officer in the U.S. Armed Forces and the president’s principal military adviser, advising the secretary of defense, the National Security Council and Homeland Security.
