Friday Photo: Bringing Discovery to life
Photos by Matthew Bin Han Ong, Comm '12
It's spring, it's Arbor Day, and four native Wisconsin trees are being planted on the south side of Wisconsin Avenue between 16th and 17th streets behind the College of Engineering's new Discovery Learning Complex, which has been enclosed and is well en route to completion.
The four trees — a Green Mountain Sugar Maple, Kentucky Coffee Tree, Swamp White Oak and Eastern Redbud — are part of university-wide efforts to achieve a greener campus showcasing the state's entire native collection of 63 trees and shrub species. The following photos show workers planting a 6-foot Eastern Redbud.
