Moving into the residence halls has been a rite of passage for generations of Marquette freshmen. This week, the Class of 2015 took its turn, bringing back memories for many alumni.
Elizabeth Kitzke, Bus Ad '02, shared this thought on Facebook: "Moving into the 12 floor of McCormick Hall ... scared, nervous, excited ... looking at all the strange faces. I only wish I knew then what I know now: My time at Marquette would be amazing. I would learn so much, be given so many opportunities, meet so many amazing friends and, most importantly, meet the love of my life! Good luck to the Class of 2015. Enjoy every second."
Maggie Rudersdorf, Arts ’11, who became best buds with her freshman-year roommate, Stephi Malinski, Arts '11, offers these tips for a successful roommate experience:
Establish some “house rules.”
Take time to get to know each other.
Display common courtesy and empathy to one another.
Celebrate each other’s achievements.
