Coming home for Tuesday Night Mass

Generations of students have fallen in love with Marquette's popular weekly Tuesday night Mass and its powerful combination of spiritual fulfillment and social camaraderie. The Mass strengthens the community bond among students while giving them an opportunity to center themselves and to find God amid their busy lives.
On Aug. 23, 2011, more than 70 Marquette alumni gathered once again in the St. Joan of Arc Chapel to celebrate the Eucharist with Rev. John Naus, S.J., who has presided over the Tuesday night Mass for decades. Alumni of all ages gathered to share in a tradition that has had a lasting impact on their lives. With Rev. John Fitzgibbons, S.J., by his side, Father Naus brought those in attendance back to their Marquette days with his unmistakable laugh, some familiar jokes and a moving homily about the need to try every day to be like Jesus.
The Mass was organized by Marquette alumni and promoted primarily through social media. The group hopes to schedule another alumni Tuesday night Mass in the near future.
