Ending the year on a high note
It has been a good month for Marquette singers. You can hear the Gold n' Blues, a campus a capella group, crooning O Holy Night on the radio, TV and in local movie theatres. Meanwhile, the Marquette University Chorus headed to Washington, D.C., for a pretty big gig on Dec. 17: The Holiday Open House at the White House. The unsolicited invitation came directly from 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., said chorus director Mark Konewko, who is also the university's carilloneur. The ecstatic chorus went into overtime rehearsing their three-hour set, which included We Wish You a Merry Christmas and Lux Aurumque, among other sacred and secular holiday selections.
