Nancy Armour, Jour ’91, has a cool job. 

From Gabby Douglas’ pre-Olympics shyness to the wash-ability of gymnasts’ hair glitter to the giggles caused by a tweet from Justin Bieber, Armour shares the inside scoop about the Olympic gymnasts in London.

She is a national sports writer for the Associated Press and has been covering every twist, flip and flop of the U.S. teams since 1996. (She covers figure skating during the Winter Games.)

In addition to her in-depth stories that are shared with media around the world, she shares a bit of her own occasionally sarcastic personality on her Twitter feed @nrarmour — which was selected as one of Fifty Twitter feeds you need to follow during the London Olympics by Sports Illustrated.

Armour resides in Chicago, but she doesn’t have too much time to enjoy the Windy City. Her job has her covering special events and projects all of the country, including the Masters Tournament , the NCAA Final Four and, most recently, the Penn State scandal.

But, according to her, covering the Olympics is like putting the “World Series, the NCAA Tournament and the Super Bowl all into one event — it’s a really neat thing to be a part of.”

“It’s great,” Armour says. “I couldn’t ask for a better job.”
