Marquette attracts students
who demonstrate a commitment to academics and service, and
experience with leadership.
Marquette’s Dean of Undergraduate Admissions Roby Blust
crossed the final “t” for
Blus“t” on the last offer of admission and brought
to a successful close the recruitment season for Marquette’s
2006 freshman class.
He had signed every single acceptance
letter, more than 7,000 in all, and added a personal note
of congratulations to more than a few. And the one thing that
stood out — beyond the fact that the university was celebrating a sixth
consecutive year of record applications — was that the students applying
for membership in the next freshman class are absolutely stellar.
“In terms
of academics, commitment to service, and experience with leadership, this is
far and away the best class we’ve seen,” he says.
Marquette has room
for 1,800 freshmen this fall. Blust is now resting his writing hand.
