written 100 law textbooks

that's prolific
During his first year on Marquette’s
faculty, Jay Grenig wrote a treatise on California education
law. As the book went to print, the law professor began writing
a second book. “I thought it might be nice to fill a
bookshelf,” he remembers. During the next 26 years,
he shattered that expectation by filling an entire bookcase.
Grenig
published his 100th law textbook this year. His works are
reference books
for lawyers, and the contents — covering everything from alternate dispute
resolution to workers compensation to federal jury practice and instructions — are
often cited during legal proceedings before the Wisconsin and U.S. Supreme Courts.
Grenig admits it can be unnerving to write
law books when you know the wording will be studied that closely.
Still, he keeps doing the research. And yes, he’s
already planning for books No. 101 and No. 102, new editions of two earlier works.
