1963

William W. Marr, Eng ’63, had a collection of paintings and bilingual poems displayed at the Downers Grove Public Library in Downers Grove, Ill. He has published 14 books of poetry and several books of translations.

1964

Marilyn (Moss) Beck, Dent Hy ’64, Grad ’75, wrote The History of the Marquette University Program in Dental Hygiene.

Connie Lane Neuman, Jour ’64, was named communication director for the Maryland Catholic Conference, the legislative advocacy arm serving bishops in Baltimore, Md., Washington, D.C., and Wilmington, Del.

1965

Karen (Honl) Axley, PT ’65, was featured in an article in the Rockford Register Star. She is a physical therapist at Orthopedic Rehab Specialists in Rockford, Ill.

1966 Reunion Year

Michael J. Smith, Bus Ad ’66, Grad ’72, published the book Kevin Murphy Takes on the Father of Lies, the first of a six-book series.

1967

Rev. Kevin Shanley, Grad ’67, was selected as one of the Top 100 Irish-Americans by Irish-America magazine. He was chosen based on outstanding and continuing service to the Irish-American community.

Ronald J. Wambach, Arts ’67, Law ’69, stepped down as municipal judge in Franklin, Wis. He served the community in this position for 34 years and will continue to work in his private practice and as a reserve judge.

1968

Kathleen R. Fischer, Grad ’68, published Forgiving Your Family: A Journey to Healing (Upper Room Books) and The Courage the Heart Desires: Spiritual Strength in Difficult Times (Jossey-Bass). 

Kathleen (Crowley) Francis, Jour ’68, known in poetry circles as KC Francis, was listed in the January edition of A Directory of American Poets and Fiction Writers. She has published her first book, Music for the Eyes.

1969

D. Timothy Erwin, Arts ’69, was profiled in an article in The Rebel Yell, the campus newspaper of the University of Nevada – Las Vegas. He is a professor in the English department there.

James D. Friedman, Arts ’69, was named president of Wisconsin Equal Justice Fund Inc. The organization provides legal services to low-income Wisconsinites and has raised more than $1.3 million for Wisconsin Legal Services. He is a partner at Quarles & Brady LLP in Milwaukee and was named a 2006 Leader in the Law by the Wisconsin Law Journal

Freddy J. Gildersleeve, Arts ’69, is a U.S. Department of Defense contractor in Iraq who since December 2004 has been responsible for hauling fuel to military camps in Baghdad and surrounding areas in support of U.S. troops and coalition forces. Previously, he had a 28-year career in the insurance industry.

Michael J. Gonring, Jour ’69, Law ’82, was named a Wisconsin Super Lawyer by Law & Politics. The award is given to the top five percent of attorneys in the state in more than 50 areas of practice.

Patrick M. Ryan, Law ’69, was named a Wisconsin Super Lawyer by Law & Politics. The award is given to the top five percent of attorneys in the state in more than 50 areas of practice.

William A. Valerian, Arts ’69, received the 2006 Distinguished Marketing and Sales Award from the Sales and Marketing Executives of Cleveland for leadership in sales and marketing, superior planning and organizational skills, and strong community and professional involvement. He is chairman, president and CEO of Liberty Bank, N.A., in Ohio.
