ALUMNI PROFILE

Head of the Class

When Ann Stadler, CPMP, CJPA ’92, was a communication major, an internship at a PR agency was a launching pad for her career.

By Robin Graham

She says, “You learn fast and furious in that kind of environment.” Today, Stadler is a vice president at Cramer-Krasselt, one of the largest independent full-service marketing agencies in the United States, managing World Kitchen accounts, including Pyrex™ and Corelle™.

She’s also back at Marquette — this time as an instructor. The career development course she teaches for the Department of Advertising and Public Relations helps students prepare for their job search in the communication fields. “Looking for communication jobs is different from looking for other jobs,” she says. “This is a nuts-and-bolts course to help them get on the right path.” Students also learn organization, initiative, responsibility — things they aren’t necessarily taught in the classroom. “That’s the most satisfying part,” she says, “helping them develop the skills that are part of being a communication professional.”
