James K. Michels, Eng ’62, and his firm, Engineering Enterprises Inc., were recognized by the National Society of Professional Engineers with the 2005 Professional Development Award for Private Practice.
1966 Reunion Year
Dr. James L. Gutmann, Arts ’66, Dent ’70, was awarded an honorary professorship at Wuhan University School of Stomatology, Wuhan, China. In September, the fourth edition of his text, written with Marquette classmate Dr. Paul E. Lovdahl, Dent ’70, of Bellingham, Wash., Problem Solving in Endodontics, was published by Elsevier. Gutmann recently completed a five-week lecture tour of seven Asian countries, Lebanon and three Baltic States.
Bob L. Milardo, Arts ’66, founded Milardo Capital Management in Boston.
Elizabeth Anderson Fitzgerald, Sp ’68, was appointed vice president, western region, by Christie’s Great Estates Inc. in Newport Beach, Calif.
Beatrice A. Semrov, Grad ’68, retired at the end of the 2005 school year after teaching social studies to 6th through 8th graders for 37 years.
Freddy J. Gildersleeve, Arts ’69, is an Army contractor providing fuel for U.S. military and coalition forces in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. This new endeavor followed a 28-year career in the insurance industry. When not in Iraq, he lives in Kewaskum, Wis., with his wife, Janet.
Lawrence G. Weathers, Arts ’69, was named science curriculum director of the Belmont School District in Massachusetts, with system-wide responsibility for science, technology and health education. He worked in the Harvard School District for 26 years.
