Marquette meets New York
Alumni catch up in the Big Apple
Alumni came to the Harvard Club of New York City to network, hear what’s happening at Marquette, and learn by attending one of three breakout sessions. Some came from as far away as California to meet President Robert Wild, S.J., and several deans and university officials.
Daniel Fuss, Bus Ad ’55, Grad ’66, vice chair of Loomis, Sayles & Company LP, led a session on the bond market outlook. Dr. Arnold Mitchem, Grad ’81, president of the Council for Opportunity in Education, presented “Social Justice and Opportunity — the Cornerstones of a Jesuit Education.” And Roby Blust, dean of undergraduate admissions, offered a session to help parents navigate the college admissions process.
“Alumni genuinely wanted to catch up with the college and talk about ways to give back, such as internship opportunities,” Dr. Ana Garner says of the event. Garner is interim dean of the J. William and Mary Diederich College of Communication.
