Alumna reaches back to Marquette
It was 1956 and 14 women were about to become Marquette’s first class of physical therapy graduates.
Among them was Jacqueline Bellizzi. Fifty years later, Bellizzi left her legacy to the program she found so dear.
Bellizzi, who died last year, gave the College of Health Sciences nearly $1.3 million, the largest gift in the college’s history. Her gift supports research and PT scholarships.
“It would be difficult to overstate the impact of Jackie Bellizzi’s gift,” says Dean William Cullinan. “The funds have not only made it possible for talented students to access an outstanding physical therapy education, but also to provide neuroscience and neurorehabilitation research experiences for undergraduate students as they work alongside professors tackling issues of great clinical significance. I think she would be proud.”
