STUDENT LIFE
The mustard dash
Inspired by the Bible passage “If you have faith the size of a mustard seed … nothing will be impossible to you,” students gave this year’s run/walk fundraiser for Noon Run a decidedly golden touch. It was impossible to miss the mob of mustard-yellow T-shirted runners scooting through campus. The 144 participants raised more than $3,000, or about half of Noon Run’s annual $6,000 budget. Students raise the other half through a Christmas card promotion and by selling hot dogs to students.
Noon Run distributes student-made soup and sandwiches six days a week to men and women in a nearby campus neighborhood. It is part of the umbrella of programs called Midnight Run, which was founded in 1988 by students and continues to feed the hungry at 10 sites around the city.
