Blue and gold runs in their blood: 22 percent of freshmen are from legacy families, meaning their parents, aunts, uncles or grandparents are Marquette alumni.
They’re pioneers: One quarter of freshmen are first-generation college students, or the first in their families to go to college.
Estrogen has the upper hand: 53 percent are women.
They’re smart: This year’s freshman class ranked in the 78th percentile
of their high school graduating classes.
They’re diverse: Marquette students come from every state and more than 80 countries.
They stay busy: 90 percent of undergraduates participate in campus activities or student organizations; 11 percent are part of social Greek organizations and 46 percent participate in University Ministry or other faith activities.
They’re caring: 84 percent of undergraduates participate in service at least once a year.
They’re well-traveled: 33 percent of undergraduates participate in
international programs, experiences or travel while at Marquette.
Residence hall is home sweet home: 91 percent of freshmen live on
campus. Students are required to live in residence halls freshman and sophomore years.
They recognize a great opportunity: 21 students are here just for fun. They’re Marquette alums auditing classes in the Klingler College of Arts and Sciences.
