Welcome to the homepage for the Department of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science Undergraduate Studies. Our department offers majors in:

• Computational Mathematics
• Computer Science
• Mathematics
• Mathematics and Secondary Education
• Mathematics for Elementary School Teachers (MELT)

Also, with the Department of Economics, we offer the Interdisciplinary Major in Applied Mathematical Economics. The College of Arts and Sciences also allows the creation of special interdisciplinary majors and minors if students may be better served by a flexible grouping of courses from several areas. Details on the procedures to obtain approval are in the Undergraduate Bulletin. In the past few years, students in this department have earned or are pursuing majors in actuarial science, bioinformatics, and meteorology.

Summer 2013 Research Experience

The Department of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science is hosting the NSF-funded Summer 2013 Research Experience (REU) for Undergraduates. This program provides U.S. undergraduates with an intensive, faculty-mentored, summer research experience in the areas of applied mathematics, high-performance computing, statistics, ubiquitous systems and mathematics education.
