Indian Student Assistance Program Grant

Eligibility criteria

  1. Enrolled member of a federally recognized tribe and/or certified as having one-fourth Native-American ancestry
  2. Resident of Wisconsin as determined by State of Wisconsin Higher Educational Aids Board (HEAB)
  3. Undergraduate or Graduate
  4. Enrolled at least half-time
  5. Must demonstrate financial need

Amounts and selection process

Grants range from $250-$1,100 per academic year. State of Wisconsin funds program.

Application process

  1. File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
  2. Submit a Visually Handicapped/Hearing-impaired Certificate form to HEAB. Forms available from HEAB.

Renewal process

Grant is renewed when application is complete and eligibility requirements are met while funding is still available. Hearing/Visually Impaired Student Grant Application must be completed each year. Grant can be received for a maximum of 10 terms.
