All undergraduates are expected to maintain at least a C (2.000) GPA in Marquette work.
All undergraduates who do not maintain at least a 2.000 cumulative grade point average in Marquette work are subject to a Scholastic Actions Committee review and possible academic dismissal at the discretion of the student's college or program. However, all undergraduates who do not maintain at least a 2.000 cumulative average in Marquette work and whose GPA falls within the following categories will be reviewed by the Scholastic Actions Committee and are subject to possible academic dismissal.
| Degree hours earned | Cumulative GPA |
| 0 to 34 | Less than or equal to 1.500 |
| 35 to 70 | Less than or equal to 1.800 |
| 71 to 102 | Less than or equal to 1.900 | 103 or more | Less than or equal to 1.950 |
When an undergraduate is allowed to continue at Marquette with either excessive grade point deficiency or excessive failing grades, the Scholastic Actions Committee, through the dean or director, will prescribe in writing conditions under which a student is allowed to continue. Undergraduates who fail to meet the conditions for progress stipulated by the Scholastic Actions Committee may be required to withdraw for academic reasons.
This policy represents university standards. A college or school may enforce a different policy as defined in the Undergraduate Bulletin for students enrolled in their courses.
