Even as the jargon of business, technology and politics seems to turn language into tool and commodity, poets continue to find everyday experience that breathes the questions of human existence. This volume explores poets of three continents whose acts of naming even the bleakest and most ordinary experiences lend them dignity, depth, and a resonance of the mystery that is opened by words.
