Ignatius Scholarships
The Ignatius Scholarships for previous academic achievement range from $8,000 to $14,000 per year for up to four years for students who will begin their Marquette studies in the 2010-11 school year. These awards are based on merit, not on financial need.
For more specific information, read the Ignatius Scholarship Overview.
Transfer Student Scholarships
Students from two-year, post-secondary institutions within the United States or from similar approved institutions outside of the United States may be eligible for Transfer Student Scholarships. These scholarships range from a total of $2,000 to $3,000 per year and are awarded in addition to the Ignatius Scholarships.
Candidates for admission who may qualify for these awards will receive an additional application from the Office of International Education.
For more information, visit the Transfer scholarship web site.
International Jesuit High School Scholarships
The Jesuits, a religious order of Catholic priests, operate hundreds of senior secondary schools around the world. Students who will enroll at Marquette directly after completion of senior secondary studies at one of those schools may apply for an International Jesuit High School Scholarship. These awards are competitive and are valued at half the cost of tuition per academic year. The awards are renewable subject to normal terms and conditions.
No more than one new candidate per year from any one school may receive this award. A Jesuit award takes the place of any other Marquette scholarship that a candidate may otherwise receive.
First consideration is given to candidates who complete their application procedures by November 1 for spring term enrollment and by March 15 for fall term enrollment
Competitive Scholarships
Each of Marquette's seven colleges sponsors a scholarship competition on the Marquette campus in February. Winners are selected solely on the test results from the day of the competition and are required to enroll in the college sponsoring the examination. These scholarship awards can be combined with the Ignatius Scholarship Awards for up to $14,000 in scholarship money each year. The competition is open to students who have been admitted to Marquette by February 1. Please contact OIE by January 1 to register for the exam.
Pere Marquette Explorer Scholarship
Established in the spirit of exploration and discovery that was demonstrated by our university's namesake, this scholarship seeks to build up on the university's long history of drawing students from diverse geographic backgrounds. This annual scholarship of $5,000 is offered to 12 new freshmen students whose pursuit of exploration and self-discovery has led them to consider Marquette University. The application deadline is February 15 and is open to students who have been admitted to Marquette by February 1.
