Wisconsin 2012: The voters have spoken. What have they told us?

With an historic recall election, record campaign spending, the first woman senator from Wisconsin, and a vice presidential candidate from Janesville, the past year in Wisconsin politics has been nothing short of remarkable. Marquette Law School will host a series of conversations on Thursday, Dec. 6, with experts who watched this year unfold. The event will run from 8:15 a.m. to 12 p.m. It is free and open to the public, but seating is limited. Register online.

From voter attitudes and media coverage to political advertising and campaign strategy, what did we learn in 2012? Guests joining Mike Gousha, distinguished fellow in law and public policy at Marquette, will include:
•    Charles Franklin, Marquette Law School Poll director;
•    Amber Wichowsky, assistant professor of political science at Marquette;
•    Ken Goldstein, president of Kantar Media/Campaign Media Analysis Group;
•    Craig Gilbert, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Washington bureau chief;
•    Jeff Mayers, WisPolitics president;
•    Keith Gilkes, campaign manager for Scott Walker and Tommy Thompson; and
•    John Kraus, campaign communications director for Tammy Baldwin.

Media interested in attending should contact Brigid Miller in the Office of Marketing and Communication at (414) 288-7445 or brigid.miller@marquette.edu.
