Applying the Marquette Brand in Advertising
Print advertising includes any paid advertising in newspapers,
magazines, programs, brochures or catalogs.
If you are considering
running an ad in a magazine, newspaper or other type of print publication:
- As soon as you’ve identified that your department would like to run an ad in a publication — and at least three weeks before the publication due date — please contact the Office of Marketing and Communication by phone
at 288-1987 or use our online
form. Include the name of the publication
and the date you would like your ad to run.
- If you have already created an ad, e-mail it
or send via campus mail to the Office of Marketing and Communication
for approval. It is against university policy to commit Marquette
funds for advertising without prior approval. Please read the UPP
1-16 section for more details.
- We will respond
to you within three business days with either the go-ahead to run
the ad or with suggestions about how to improve its content and
design.
- The Office of Marketing and Communication will make every effort
to clip your ad when it runs and save it for future reference. If
you are running a series of similar ads during the course of a number
of months in a variety of publications — in other words, if you are
running a mini ad campaign — there is no need to get different sizes
approved for each publication.
- The Office of Marketing and Communication can approve an entire
campaign or an advertising template at one time, and include all
scheduled dates on the university’s master advertising schedule.
