Applying the Marquette Brand in Print

Print Type Families

The typefaces used for the Marquette brand platform are Univers and ITC Garamond. A blend of the two fonts can be used for all audiences with alumni communications using more classic serif fonts (Garamond) and undergraduate and graduate/adult student communications using more san serif (Univers).

Univers™

The Univers type family is a simple, modern and versatile font that serves as the driving typeface of the Marquette brand creative platform. Univers 45 Light is the primary font for body text. A mix of Univers 75 Black and Univers 55 is used for headlines and subheads. Univers 67 Condensed Bold and Univers 47 Condensed Light are fonts used in invitations and related event materials.

Note: Marquette has a limited number of licenses for use of the Univers font, and priority is give to university-wide projects. However, you (or the department you’re working with) may purchase the font from AdobeType.

Garamond™

The Garamond type family is an elegant, classic face that fits well with the simplicity of Univers. The Garamond type family can be used when a serif font is more appropriate than a sans-serif font.
