GENERAL INFORMATION

FOR RESEARCHERS

IBC Training Information

All Marquette University faculty, staff, or students engaged in research or teaching activities at Marquette University involving recombinant or synthetic nucleic acid molecules, biohazardous agents, or select agents or toxins will be required to complete the training requirements outlined below.

A. You are a Member of the Marquette IBC

B. You are listed as a PI, staff, or graduate staff on a registered Marquette IBC protocol

If you will be shipping any biological materials you will need to complete as well;

If you will be working with vertebrate animals you will need to complete as well;

 

C. You are an undergrad student or laboratory volunteer

If you will be working with vertebrate animals you will need to complete as well;

 

D. You will be working with animals under BSL – 2 conditions

Mission Statement

The mission of the Office of Research Compliance, in cooperation with and in support of the Institutional Review Board, Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, Radiation Safety Committee, and Institutional Biosafety Committee, is to facilitate safe and ethical research conducted by Marquette faculty, staff and students in the areas of human subjects, animal subjects, radiation safety and biosafety.
