Welcome to Marquette University's Institutional Review Board (IRB) for the protection of human subjects. The MU IRB reviews and approves research involving the use of human subjects under the jurisdiction of Marquette University. The IRB is charged with the responsibility of ensuring the adequacy of the research plan, to minimize risks and to maximize the potential for benefit from human subjects’ who participate in research based on federal and state regulations, in addition to institutional policies.
September 4, 2013: NEW! IRB Submission Process - Beginning 9/1/2013, IRB submissions (new studies, amendments, annual reviews, 3-year renewals, etc.) must be submitted by standard e-mail. Visit the Electronic Submissions page for detailed instructions.

August 23, 2013: NEW! Training Lookup site available on SharePoint. Do you need a copy of your NIH human subjects research training certificate or want to make sure it is on file with the ORC? Do you want to know if your research staff have NIH training on file with the ORC? Now you can look up certificates and retrieve a PDF copy. For more information visit the Training & Education page.
