Educational seminars
UAOCSS offers two seminars to students who are thinking about moving out of the residence halls and into Marquette's off-campus neighborhood. Both are designed to inform students about issues they may face as renters and help them be smarter consumers.
Apartment Hunting 101
This seminar is offered in the fall at all sophomore residence halls. It teaches students what to look for in off-campus housing and how to go about finding a place to live, as well as gives them the opportunity to ask questions.
Crib Notes: The 411 on Moving Off Campus
This seminar is offered in April and designed to educate students about things they will need to think about as they move out of residence halls and into apartments or houses. Topics include safety, inspections, roommates, bills, landlords and what to do when problems arise. Students also can ask questions.
