CIES annually recruits and sends nearly 1,100 U.S. faculty and professionals to 125 countries on its traditional program and brings 900 foreign faculty and professionals to the U.S. The organization has also recently launched a new Fulbright program:
The Fulbright Regional Network for Applied Research (NEXUS) Program continues the aims of the New Century Scholars Program, but focused on a regional level. The NEXUS Program will bring together a network of up to 20 junior scholars, professionals and mid-career applied researchers from the United States and other Western Hemisphere nations for a series of three seminar meetings and a Fulbright exchange experience. The seminars will provide a platform for collaborative thinking, analysis, problem-solving and multi-disciplinary research in one of three inter-related topics: 1) Science, Technology and Innovation, 2) Entrepreneurship, and 3) Sustainable Energy.

Each spring, the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs hosts a Fulbright Brown Bag lunch. During these sessions, a panel of 3-4 Marquette Fulbright alumni share their Fulbright experiences from application to award completion and answer questions from those in attendance.
