Each year, the Office of Student Development and the Division of Student Affairs recognize the outstanding contributions of student organizations to the Marquette community. Please help us celebrate a wonderful year by nominating the outstanding programs, officers, advisors, and organizations in the
2012-2013 academic year.
The program that receives this award will be a social program sponsored by a student organization at Marquette that contributed to the broader mission of Marquette and encouraged students to interact positively with their peers and community.
The program that receives this award will be an educational program sponsored by a student organization at Marquette that contributed to the broader mission of Marquette and encouraged students to continue their learning outside of the classroom.
The program that receives this award will be a diversity program sponsored by a student organization at Marquette that allowed a broad range of participants to experience and learn about diversity. The program will have a focus on developing understanding, tolerance, and acceptance.
The program that receives this award will be a community service program sponsored by a student organization at Marquette that contributed to the broader mission of Marquette and encouraged students to engage in service beyond this one experience.
The recipient of this award will have exemplified good leadership throughout their term as an officer of a student organization at Marquette. They will have made significant contributions to strengthen their organization and/or will have impacted the members of the organization in a positive manner.
The recipient of this award will be a Marquette employee who voluntarily serves as an advisor to a student organization while exemplifying Marquette’s ideals of faith, leadership, service and excellence.
This award will be given to an organization new to the campus in the current academic year. The organization will demonstrate a progression of growth throughout the year as indicated by their programming and membership. Along with fostering personal and professional excellence in its members, this organization will have had an impact on the Marquette community.
The Reverend Robert A. Wild, S.J. Spirit of Marquette Award was established in 1992 to honor recognized student organizations for carrying out the Mission of the University through contributions to the Marquette and Milwaukee communities. Up to three awards are given annually and are accompanied by a monetary gift of at least three hundred dollars to support the future activities of the organization.
The Reverend Robert A. Wild, S.J. Spirit of Marquette Award is given to organizations that have most exemplified the University mission through their programs and services. Specific contributions through fostering personal and professional excellence, forming ethical and informed leaders, developing men and women dedicated to the service of others, and/or promoting a life of faith are considered. Applications are reviewed by the Awards Committee to determine which student organizations have made significant contributions to the development of a positive campus culture through the activities they sponsor and the manner in which the organization members conduct their work.
Special consideration is given to those applicants that have not received a Reverend Robert A. Wild, S.J. Spirit of Marquette Award in the previous three years.
The Outstanding Class awards are awarded to a male andfemale in each class who embody Marquette’s four pillars of excellence, faith, leadership and service, and support the Marquette Greek Life Mission statement’s objective of strengthening ties of brotherhood and sisterhood in their daily lives. These individuals have shown their leadership abilities through their hard work this year andshow great promise as future leaders of Greek Life in the years to come.
The Four-Year Dedication award is presented to a male and female who have consistently given outstanding service to Marquette Greek Life and have made a positive impact on his and her chapters throughout their four years as members. This award not only considers chapter involvement, but GPA and involvement on Marquette’s campus as well.
The Greek Man and Woman of the Year Awards are presented the man and woman within our community who have exhibited the both excellence and dedication to Greek Life in all that they done over the course of the 2012-2013 year.
