New Student And Family Orientation 2013

Welcome to Marquette University!

New Student and Family Orientation is an exciting time in the Marquette community. Orientation is four days of activities, held August 21 – 24, designed to introduce all new students (first-year and transfer) to the academic excellence, vibrant campus life, and community involvement that comprise the Marquette tradition. Students living on campus will move into their residence hall rooms on the same day as Orientation begins.

All new first-year and transfer students are required to check-in for Orientation on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 between 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. in the Alumni Memorial Union (3rd Floor). All new students are automatically registered for the program, and at check-in they will receive their personalized packet and a final schedule.

Families registered for Orientation may check in at the same time as their student.  Families who wish to register for Orientation when they arrive to campus may also do so during this same time.

Orientation events are designed to help students be successful at Marquette. For this reason, there are several events throughout the week that first-year students are required to attend, and a variety of events that are optional.

Meals During Orientation
Meals are served in the residence halls, beginning with dinner on Wednesday. Residential students may gain access to the cafeterias using the meal plan, accessible with their Marquette Student ID. Commuter students receive meal tickets at Orientation check-in, to use for breakfast, lunch and dinner in designated residence hall cafeterias.

Parking
Commuter student permits are on sale from the Parking Services Office located in the Wells Street Parking Structure. Day and overnight passes are available. To purchase a permit online, visit www.marquette.edu/parking. Parking for Family Orientation is free on Wednesday, August 21 and Thursday, August 22. Please refer to the information you received from the Office of Residence Life regarding parking during move-in. Free parking is available in the 16th Street Parking Structure, located between Wisconsin Avenue and Wells Street, and the Wells Street Parking Structure, located between 12th and 13th streets.
