Prof. Rhodes's primary field is political philosophy. He was the winner of the Alpha Sigma Nu award for The Hitler Movement (Stanford University Press, 1980). He has published articles on political philosophy in The Journal of Politics, The Review of Politics, and Interpretation. His most recent book, on Plato, is entitled Eros, Wisdom, and Silence: Plato's Erotic Dialogues. He is also a past winner of the Pere Marquette Award for Teaching Excellence.
