Role of context in fear re-emergence after extinction

Role of stress exposure in enhancing fear acqusition and expression

Role of context in fear expression

Role of particular neural circuits and molecules in each of the above

Necessary Prequesites/Training:

 

Biological Psychology (135)

Learning and Behavior (121)

Research Methods (90)-Very helpful but not required.

Length of Assistance:

 

No absolute committment, but some basic skill aquisition is involved.  Thus. the amount of work and experience availible goes up exponentially as students remain in the laboratory.

Executing Experiments

Analyzing data

Presenting data

Potential for publication

Rewarding Aspects of Being a Research Assistant:

Experience for, and information about graduate/academic careers.

 

Lecture and word-of-mouth are poor sources of information about the actual work involved in science.
