Social Psychology: Stereotyping, Discrimination, and Prejudice

Current Research Topics:

Gender stereotypes and how they influence behaviors and sense of worth.

Prerequisites/Training:

Ideally students should have completed statistics and research methods courses.  Having social psychology and/or psychology of prejudice is ideal.

Length of Commitment:

1 semester to 1 year.

Experiences Gained:

Students will be trained as an experimenter and assist with data collection.  They will also read social psychology articles, attend lab meetings, possibly work with SPSS, and complete independent projects that meet learning objectives.

Rewarding Aspects of Being a Research Assistant:

Learning more about social psychology research and gaining skills necessary in graduate school.
