Steve Byers

Steve Byers graduated from Southern Methodist University in 2003, where he earned his B.A. in psychology along with his B.B.A. in marketing from the Cox School of Business. Following his graduation Steve spent two years in Vail, Colorado coaching the Vail Youth Development Downhill Race Team and working with the race department on the Birds of Prey, World Cup event. Steve began his graduate career in the clinical psychology department of Marquette University in 2007. The focus his research has been on investigating the relationship between emotion regulation strategies, coping, and substance abuse, particularly within a military population. Steve is currently working on his master's thesis examining the relationship between emotion regulation strategies and subsequent coping behaviors in an undergraduate population. He enjoys a variety stress relieving activities such as tennis, paintball, downhill skiing, and skydiving.
