Dr. Kaugars teaches undergraduate psychology of the exceptional child and health psychology courses and graduate-level personality assessment, health psychology, and psychotherapy courses.
Dr. Kaugars’ research examines emotional development among children from at-risk populations. Dr. Kaugars has conducted research with children with medical conditions and children prenatally exposed to cocaine. Specific areas of interest include parent-child emotion regulation and children’s responses to stress.
