Renascence: Essays on Values in Literature Announces
The Dr. Joseph M. Schwartz Memorial Prize Essay
To honor the late Dr. Schwartz, former editor of the journal, Renascence will award a prize of $1,000 for the essay judged to be the best published in Renascence during the previous two years. In alternate years Renascence commissions an essay on a topic in American literature, Dr. Schwartz's field of expertise. That essay is then presented as a lecture in April, with the printed form appearing in the Spring's issue.
Essays appearing in Renascence will be judged by a group of three judges chosen from the Renascence Associates. The prize-winning essay will be announced in the winter issue of the year following selection.
