Residence Councils
The Residence Councils are compromised of students that live in the residence halls or university-owned apartments and are the governing bodies for the halls and apartments. The Residence Councils focus on issues within the halls or apartments and provide activities for the residents.
Each Residence Council is formed at the beginning of the fall semester when the residents vote on candidates to serve on the Residence Council Executive Board. Hall Council executive boards are made up of a President, Vice president, Secretary, Treasurer, RHA Representative(s), and sometimes other positions like a Historian. Each hall also has a Residence Hall Senator who sits on the Hall Council executive board and who attends MUSG meetings. The RHA Representatives are a part of both the Residence Council and RHA.
Informational sessions are held during the first week of classes and elections for the executive board positions occur during the second week of classes. Each wing/floor/apartment selects a voting representative(s) to attend the Residence Council meetings and be the voice of the students in the building. Residence Council meetings are held on Tuesday evenings and are open to all students in the hall.
