Sergeant First Class Joshua Pagan enlisted in the Army on the 22nd of October, 2003, as a Combat Engineer (12B). He attended basic training and advanced individual training at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri.

SFC Pagan has served in a variety of assignments to include; Team Leader/Squad Leader, Charlie Company 9th Engineer Battalion 1st Infantry Division, Schweinfurt, Germany, US Army Recruiter, Glendale Recruiting Station, Glendale, Arizona, Phoenix West Company, Phoenix Battalion, Squad Leader/Platoon Sergeant, 66th Engineer Company, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, Platoon Sergeant 3rd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, Battalion Assistant Operations Sergeant, 4th Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade, Fort Carson, Colorado, Platoon Sergeant 576th Clearance Company, 4th Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade, Fort Carson, Colorado. He has participated in four campaigns within Operation Iraqi Freedom, Transition of Iraq, Iraqi Governance, National Resolution, and Iraqi Surge. 

SFC Pagan’s current assignment is as a Military Science Instructor and Training NCO at Marquette University.

SFC Pagan’s military and civilian education includes the Basic Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, Senior Leader Course, Army Recruiter Course, Dismounted Counter Improvised Explosive Device Master Tactics Trainer Course, Battle Staff, Equal Opportunity Leader Course, Air Assault School, and the Sapper Leader Course.  He has also earned the Emergency Medical Technician (Basic) certification, and a Bachelor of Science in Business with a concentration in Human Resource Management through the University of Phoenix.

SFC Pagan’s awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (8 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (4th award), National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal (4 CS), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (#3), Korean Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Ribbon (#4), Valorous Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Citation, Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, Combat Action Badge, Air Assault Badge, Wheel and Track Vehicle Driver’s Badges, Recruiter (Gold) Badge w/Three Sapphires, and the coveted Sapper Tab.

SFC Pagan and his wife Erica have three children; Isaiah, Athena, and Eva.
