SFC Baumann enlisted in the Army on 3 March 2003 as an Infantryman, attending One Station Unit Training (OSUT) AT Ft. Benning, GA

SFC Baumann has served in a variety of assignments to include; Team Leader, Headquarters and Headquarters Company 2nd Battalion 12th Infantry Regiment, Ft. Carson, CO; Drill Sergeant, Bravo Company 2nd Battalion, 13th Infantry Regiment, Ft. Jackson, SC; Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, Alpha Company 1st Battalion, 24th Infantry Regiment, Ft. Wainwright, AK; Platoon Sergeant Bravo Company Warrior Transition Unit- Alaska, Platoon Sergeant, Killer Troop 1st Squadron 11th Cavalry Regiment, Ft. Irwin, CA.  He has deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF).

SFC Baumann is assigned to Marquette University ROTC as a Military Science Instructor.

SFC Baumann’s awards and decorations include:  Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (2 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (4th Award) National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal (2 CS), Iraqi Campaign Medal (2 CS), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (3) Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Ribbon (4), NATO Medal, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Expert Infantryman’s Badge and Drill Sergeant Badge
