Mr. John Mixon

Mr. Mixon is a U.S. Army 1st Lieutenant and an Engility ROTC Senior Military Science Instructor. Engility’s mission is to enhance and support the United States Army Cadet Command’s mission of recruiting, training, retaining, and commissioning the Army's future leaders at colleges and universities across the country.

Mr. Mixon graduated from Lincoln University with a B.S. in Computer Information Systems. He also received his commission from Lincoln University AROTC and branched as a Signal Officer.

Mr. Mixon deployed to the Sinai, assigned as the Executive Officer of a Battery. He supervised the Battery Headquarters section and Sector Control Center. He planned and coordinated Battery tactical operations and was responsible for controlling all the tactical and technical training, logistical, personnel and safety operations of the Battery.

Mr. Mixon currently serves as the Company Executive Officer and the principle staff officer at the 433rd Signal Company for the Illinois National Guard. He is responsible for directing the commander’s task, conducting coordination and ensuring efficient and prompt responses. He overseas coordination of Company activities and interacts with Platoon Leaders to ensure compliance and success of Company missions

Mr. Mixon is a graduate of Signal Officer basic of course, airborne school and is Combatives Level 1 certified.

His awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, the Army National Guard Components Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Armed Forces Reserve Army Medal, the Army Service Medal, the Army Overseas Service Medal, the Army Reserve Components Overseas Training Medal, the German Proficiency Badge, and the Multi-National Forces and Observers Medal.
