Captain Marlon Evans graduated from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale with a bachelor’s of science degree in management. He was commissioned a 2LT through the Federal Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, Georgia in October 2006 and was branched Infantry.
Captain Evans served as the Basic Training Executive officer “F” Company 2-58th Infantry 198th Brigade from Jan 2007 to Jan 2008, Battalion Mortar Platoon Leader, Battalion Information Operations Officer, and Assistant Operations Officer in the 1-15th Infantry Battalion 3Rd Brigade from Jan 2008 to Jun 2012. Captain Evans deployed to the Iraqi Provinces of Al Diwaniyah and Najaf with the 3rd Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and New Dawn from Sep 2008 to Oct 2009.
His military education includes the Infantry Officer Basic Course, Stryker and Bradley Leader Course, Mortar Platoon Leader Course, Combatives Level I, and the Adjutant General Captain Career Course.
His awards and decorations include the US Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, USMC Presidential Unit Citation, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Navy Unit Commendation, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, Kosovo Campaign Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Army Service Medal, Overseas Ribbon, -Iraq Campaign Medal, Navy Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and the NATO Metal.
CPT Marlon Evans and his wife Latanya have four children: Miriam, Nya, Johnathan, and Chloe.
